    Description

    Nice example of the 1935 FS-801 double die reverse.  This coin is indeed rare in grades above VF.  In attributing this coin, the obverse was also matched to the die marriage, and one can see the slight doubling on the tops of the lettering, LIBERTY on both this coin and the published FS-801 examples.  There are two double-die reverses to this date, and this coin matches the doubling on the FS-801 and not the FS-803.  Although grading is an opinionated science, it is my opinion, and my opinion only that this coin would grade in choice to very choice AU.
